Thoughts on Sigma 20mm f1.8 EX DG for the af-100 for $250?

[vcfilms]

Would you buy this lens for the af-100 for that price if you were me? Seems like a pretty good price. Has anyone had any experience with this lens? It's pretty fast for that wide of a lens, just not sure it's performance is up to snuff. Any care to give me some thoughts from experience?

Thanks

Here's a decent review of it:

Looks like it's very soft at 1.8, but at 2.8 the center portion (which is all you'll be using anyhow) is actually sharper than the Canon counterpart (according to the review anyhow).

I have it, I don't like it. Too soft/bloomy to use at 1.8 IMO, plenty of chroma fringing, barrel distortion, very short focus throw, cheap ball bearing feel to the focus ring.

Great, thanks for the heads up, I had a feeling it's not too great a lens

go for the panny 20mm f1.7 or for more $$ the Nokton 25mm f0.95

yeah I do like the 25 f.95, but I already have a 24mm lens. I'm looking for something around 20 if possible, so maybe the Pansonic is an option
