Thoughts and Prayers Needed!!!!!!!

i had a dream i had a son last night, he was 4 months, and he was the most beautiful thing ever. I used to not want children. but now i feel different. i cant imagine anyhing like what you guys describe.

thanks again everybody. Inspiring stories from so many people

All the wishes, thoughts and stories are making this a lot better. I wish I had time to respond to everybody personally, but please know that every single syllable of every single word from every single well-wisher is not in vain. they all mean so much.

I just got back from the hospital and have some good news. They have weened her off of one of the five medications they have her on, which is good. The have also reduced the amount of oxygen they are feeding her. The idea is to make her breath more on her own.

Things are looking up. We won't be able to get a better fix on her heart condition until she gets better, but the initial examine looks promising as well.

Thanks again everybody. I'm heading to bed so that I can get up and head to the hospital again.

Best regards and much thanks,

Jason

I was covering the war in Kosovo when my first born was on her way. I will forever remember standing on a muddy hillside with a grizzled old Marine Corps major waiting for helicopter.

He was a warrior-father with a big clutch of kids of his own. He said, "Everyone tells you that your life is going to change. And this is true. There are diapers to change, bottles to get, sleep that is missed, first smiles, the feeling you get when their little hands grab your finger and a slew of other undeniable joys and challenges. But what people don't always tell you is that YOU change. When you become a father, down in the deepest core of your being YOU become a new person, forever transformed. Your whole view of the world and what's important get's turned on its ass."

Welcome to the circle my friend. It sucks that you and your baby are having such a rough entry. As others have said, it's every parent's worst nightmare. But there are gifts in hardship, too, and bonds grow stronger in the broken places.

TAKE CARE OF YOUR WOMAN. As hard as this is for you, it's double, triple hard for her. The love, tenderness and grace you show her now will set the tone for your relationship for years to come. Being a good father is just as much about being a good husband as anything else.

I am praying for you and your entire family.

God bless.

Man, 2 years ago next month I wrote a very similar message here on these boards when my little newborn baby girl stopped breathing after being born early. I can absolutely understand how hard this is for you to go through, but just know that she's in very good and capable hands, who are doing everything possible to get her well. You have a huge support group here on dvxuser, with many other daddys as you mentioned. Keep your head up, and be strong for her mama too, she'll need a shoulder to lean on during all this as well.

My thoughts and prayers definitely your way brotha...

That's good progress for sure. Looking forward to more my friend.

I just got to this thread. I will remember Logan and your family in my prayers. I'm glad to read that things are getting better. Keep the faith. His condition will continue to improve. And later when Logan is up and running around smiling at you saying "Daddy, daddy!"you will remember how much you went through, squeeze him tight and love him all the more if that is at all possible.

Jason,

My wife, Stephanie, the kids and I are one of the March of Dimes Ambassador Families. We had twins who came at 25 weeks, so I can really empathize with what you guys are going through right now!

If you need someone to talk with (who isn't a physician), feel free to drop us a line. There is a great support network out there for families working through premature birth situations.

Also dont forget man, premies need the help at first, but they are stronger than they look. they recover from stuff like this. :) we'e had 3 premies in my family all with similar troubles, all of them grew up to be giants.... i fee lshort next to them sometimes, and they are only 17.

Man, what a great place. I really want to come back and respond to everybody when i can. People in the same situations, people offering help, people with family's experiencing the same issues and people who can feel for the situation as a whole. Who would have ever thought that a forum for film and technology could be such a comforting place for matters of the heart, but this isn't the first time I've found understanding here.

Thanks again everybody. Things are looking up a bit.

I'm still running around like a madman, but I wanted to take a few minutes to upload a picture that I took the other day because it looks like my daughter is smiling when mommny touched her. :) I'm such a sap. :)

Again, thanks a million times over for the words of encouragment.
