Thoughts and Prayers Needed!!!!!!!

Ban Me Please!
Hello everybody.

I wanted to stop in and ask for you help in wishing my newest family member well in her struggles so early on in life.

My baby girl, Logan, was force induced this weekend, 5 weeks ahead of her scheduled delivery date. When she was born, she wasn't breathing and needed oxygen and assitance to keep breathing.

Things this morning kept getting worse, so we had to airlift her to another hospital for better care. The doctors keep saying hopeful things, but none of the things they are doing to try and get her lungs going seems to be working. It's the scariest thing I've even been through without a doubt.

Right now, nothing that I have planned to do in the near future even matters. I would give up everything just to have her healthy.

I know we have a strong group of dads on the board, who understand deeply what this could feel like and then others on here are just great sympathetic people.

My baby, if she makes it, could be in the hospital for weeks so getting a series of wishful thoughts from all of you would be great to get us through.

I won't be around email or internet much for a while, so I won't be able to respond to many posts, but if people don't want to post, just putting out postive thoughts could be even more useful.

Thanks to DVXuser and REDuser for being my home away from home. My home among friends.

best,

Jason

Congrats on the new addition. Here's wishing her a long and happy life. Keep up the positive thoughts. I have faith her doctors will make everything all right.
:)

Jason,

As a father I understand what anguish you must be feeling; nothing in the world matters more than the health and well being of ones children. I know that you must feel helpless, but have faith that modern medicine can and does perform miracles on a daily basis.

Give her all the love and attention that you can and trust that with a bit of time, she will grow stronger and healthier each day.

My very best wishes.

I have a daughter and another baby on the way - due early July. Your post cut me to the core with fear, so I can only imagine how you are. Chin up mate, keep the positive energy flowing. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Isn't there a worst fear for a parent. Hope it turns out well. Science can do miracles today. Likewise my prayers are with you.

thanks all. I knew I could count on all of you to lift my spirits and redirect me to positive thinking.

I'm going to bed so that I can get one full night of sleep so that I can handle mommy, 20-month old and trips to the ICU.

EDIT: As I type this I received a follow up call from the nurse on night duty. One of the tests came back and is allowing them to cut back a bit on oxygenation. Still getting fully ventilated, but it's a small glimmer of positive. This will help me sleep.

Thanks again everybody. This really is a great place.

Jason,

I just had another baby girl and I know this fear well. My first had acid reflux and just couldn't keep anything down. The doctors thought something was wrong with her intestinal tract. We were very close to surgery with a newborn. Scary stuff but nothing on the level of what you're going through.

You can know no greater love or fear than when you become a parent. It just multiplies as you multiply :) Keep the faith and be strong for your daughter. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Wow, man ... whew.

I'm sorry you guys are having this difficult time.

I don't know what to say except that I wish your family the best and hope this is a story with a happy ending which you can tell her one day when she's older.

You have my prayers.

Jack

Jason,

Sending prayers and love to Logan and to you. Sounds like she has a great dad looking out for her.

Jason,
GOd, I have three little ones under the age of 7 and reading your post made my stomach drop, chest tighten up and knotted up my throat. I'm sorry that she's going through this and I WILL pray for her. Put positive thoughts and energy out there, I really believe in the power that it can create.

Jay

It's not right that the smallest and most helpless among us should suffer. Being a father of two, I'm constantly amazed at how strong and resiliant children are. I've seen my kids get hurt in ways that would have me in bed moaning for weeks and they just bounce right back from it. Children can make it through things that seem absolutely impossible.

My prayers are with you.

thanks again everbody. I'm still very thankful for the compassion that people on this forum have.

I've had a full nights sleep and now I'm off to do some hospital time and pick up grandparents that are flying in for backup.

I will check back when I can to read and re-read the words of encouragment.

Thanks again. It means so much to me...and Logan. :)
