Those Zeiss CP.2 lenses are nice

Want to buy a set of CP.2. I have one I am geting rid of. Great glass I just use the Supe speeds a lot more.

Glass whore enabler!

First taste of Cooke is free for you my friend.......

I bought a 4 set of the original Compact Primes.

They look and feel fantastic. And it's nice, NEVER having to rent them, when I want to play with the camera, or shoot something over a long period of time. But it is a hefty price to pay for glass!

This thread is dangerous. Suddenly I'm trying to justify buying CP.2s. "Could I survive with only one lens?" I ask myself. "What if I keep the lens for 50 years. How much does that work out at per week?".

honestly, if youre going to try to get by with only a couple lenses....

Buy a RED 17-50, and one 85mm CP.

I could shoot a damn good looking feature on those two alone.

Honestly. I regret buying all 4 of the Compact Primes (21mm, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm) It's nice to have the option to use all of them, and I certainly did on my last short and last paying job, YET, I could get by with just the 21mm and the 35mm.

I almost went with two Cooke Panchros (18mm and 32mm) but the cost was more than just going with the four CPs. Significantly more.... If it would have cost me the same or less, I probably would have went with less lenses myself. There is something about shooting with less lenses that makes you more creative. Like using a prime on a still camera as opposed to a zoom.

That said, having options are also nice. And having a zoom is nice when you actually want to zoom during a shot.

Who do you think enables Matt?

God, this thread is fun. Old school DVXuser. You guys are awesome.

Should have seen the look on my wife's face when she saw her dinning room table being used as a giant lens prep area.

Being a lens whore is very much like restoring an old Ferrari or Jag, the money just leaps from your wallet.
