I know there are a zillion threads like this but here's mine !

I am a beauty/fashion still photographer that wants to learn video. I want to be
able to produce creative pieces and web commercial video ... similar to this.

I have a Canon 1Ds Mark III that I use for stills, so I need the camera only to do video. I would like to spend less than $2k on the camera itself.

I am really attracted to the GH-1 .... but the T2i is tempting because it is inexpensive as well.

I don't want to buy a real video camera because if I need it I will just rent it.

Which would be more suitable for my use?

Thanks in advance

this has computer graphics all over the place and shows a lot of different skills than video.
the fluid simulation for instance and the layered light effects come from different softwares like compositing and 3D.
i believe this is a team effort unless a talented creative got some decent budget and unlimited time...
on the other hand i did not find the grainy video image that appealing to advertise such a luxury product but it's just me or youtube bad quality

The T2i isn't out yet so none of us have gotten it in our hands to test it. So we don't really know for sure. But from what we have seen it looks similar enough to the 7D in video quality. If it is, I would say the T2i would be the camera for you.

The reason I say this is because you already shoot Canon so you are already familiar with their layout and functions. Plus you can use the lenses you already have and are familiar with.

Of course you could also sell off your 1Ds mkIII and get a mkIV. It does video.

It is about the team ... like everything in this genre. Perhaps it was a bad example, because it was shot on film. I just wanted to give an example of the "type" of ad
not a specific look.
