No, was AVCHD at 720p 50fps. I transcode to Canopus HQX before editing which is 422.
Also the cam was in Smooth mode 0 0 0 -2
I'm still on Vegas Pro 9c and have no issues and need to upgrade. A recent video card upgrade to 1Gb made MB much, much quicker and reliable.
There's some jaggies and mosquito bug artifacts around the high motion area (paddle) of the vimeo version, butt original is clean.
This Canopus white paper might explain a few things about the HQX codec. http://www.canopus.com.cn/pdf/cc_hqcodec_whitepaper70b72.pdf

Is Canopus HQX separate from the Edius suite?
I read the white paper, and it looks great. But, I'm still trying to wrap my head around how they get the chroma channels from the 4:2:0 video....???
I never noticed the artifacts in your video. But, I wasn't really pixel peeping it, as I like the content and the theme. Therefore, any artifacts were dismissed, as the video itself was just great the way you graded it and put it together. Content is King!!!
That's how i shootto get content by getting in close to the action and getting wet. In my game it is every thing. This was shot from a 25ft runnerbout, but my normal platform is back of a jetski. Perfection in IQ is not my aim, just a watchable quality. I've sold footage like this to Broadcast for the content, the engineers screw up their noses when they hear it's AVCHD, but the producer wants it..haha. They even take GoPro footage.
I don't know how it get's from 420 to 422 either other than conversion.
Yes HQ is from Edius6 and Procoder too i think, but not 100% sure on Procoder. There are trial versions on Grass-valley website. I use Edius6 for some things, Vegas for others.
