Hi all,
please excuse this question if it is too elementary! I have a 5Dmkii and one of the things that intrigues me most about the mkiii is the longer recording time limit that it has. I end up having to shoot a bunch of different type of stuff, and when I shoot interview-type videos I hate having to stop the flow of the conversation every 12 minutes to restart a new file. I'd love to have another camera so i could stagger the recordings and never really have to stop, but as of now I only have one camera.
It was my understanding that the 12 minute time limit is more related to the file size created and the FAT file structure that the camera reads. I would assume then with the 5Dmkiii they've found a workaround? Is there a possibility that a similar solution could be made for the mkii? Perhaps through magic lantern or something? It is also very very possible that I'm looking at this in the wrong manner! Just thought I'd ask....
