This just in--I'm an idiot

I think the *proper* term is called "Sharting".

I.E. - I was at school today and I had a burrito for lunch. When I tried to break wind afterwards, I *SHARTED* all over myself. I was mortified!

Or you could do it with tubes and make it the size of a Suburban

Will that make for shallower DOF? HUH?! WILL IT? Is your suburban for sale?! DO the tubes have the ground glass included? When will it be released and I won't pay more than $500 kthxbye.

condolences barry.. id be more than very upset if that happend to me. I feel like i should send you a "someone died" card or something.

Owen, i think you should made a research before you make these questions... :cheesy:

There´s has been discused in this forum ad nauseam ( ) in lot of posts and by lot of technical experts that... you can use one of the suburban´s windows as ground glass and spin it with a coffe machine motor attached to the steering wheel...

Just thought I'd post an update to my DVX destruction story. I managed to order the correct parts from Panasonic and kept putting off doing the repair--mainly because zombiefest turned into a full time job. Finally, on last Thursday night I had to start the repair because I had a shoot on Saturday and zero options. So I started the repair on Thursday night and finished on Friday night. I replaced the entire focusing assembly, plus repaired some damage the focus encoder ring. Fortunately, everything worked great at the shoot, but afterwords the zoom started acting wonky, so I disassembled the whole thing again and found I'd incorrectly mated the zoom ring to the servo ring tab. So I correctly reassembled everything and she's as good as new. I'm one happy camper again. :)

I learned a bit about the design of the lens and front focus assembly and I'd give the engineers high marks, despite some complaints I've heard from other people about the design. The front focus assembly absorbed the energy from the fall and actually protected the optics. So if your DVX ever takes a dive, feel free to give me a PM.

uhm, I would rather PM you about anything else in the WORLD besides DVX diving... but thanks for the option as well.

Ouch! Barry - that sucks even more than a stolen mic!

EDIT:
Now that I've read the rest of the story (DUH!), I must commend you not only on your qualities as a moderator and dvxfest coordinator, but also high-spirited handyman. Great job!
