Well...that depends on whether or not the showers are golden.

I guess someone had to say it. So, I'll say this... Reservoir, please change your sig. Take it from a man playing a cowbell, it is no longer funny and it's timeliness has long since departed. I hate to be the one to tell you there's a booger hanging off the end of your nose, but...

Whoops....had a little hangar there....Thanx!! Hadn't paid it that much attention in awhile!! Good Lookin' Out!!

Sorry to hear that Barry. Ya know, shite happens! If it makes you any happier, when I got my DVX for the first time I accidently scratched the lense as I was removing the cap.

Plus in 2nd grade I pooped in my pants in front of the whole class. :(

I ALWAYS forget to tighten the tripod after I shoot something, so when I take my hand off of it, the camera tilts down and almost breaks off the make shift "matte box" every single time. I always catch it at the last moment, but I've already broken one tripod because of my stupidity.

Damn Barry, you really will do anything to get out of reviewing that $69 Follow Focus.

Excuses excuses....

There's a first for everything. But let's face it. This was inevitable. Everyone in their life time MUST, by the laws of physics, majorly **** up their equiptment. At least you got it out of the way. Smooth Sailing ahead!

My sympathies.

Plus in 2nd grade I pooped in my pants in front of the whole class. :(

Don't feel bad, BlueSpider. I **** my pants in High School. No, seriously.

What seemd to be a harmless fart during lunch turned into a wet, brown, mess.

Thanks to my Macgyver like instincts, I caked my underwear with roll-on deoderant and no one was the wiser.

AAAAHHHH. Nothing like the smell of lemon zest ass-gravy in the afternoon as a quick pick me up. **** caffiene.

And too make it all the more twisted, it was my 16th birthday.

Can you believe that? I tell ya, I have the worst luck with birthdays.

Let's hope I make it out of today in one piece!!!

Hahaha, Super Trooper. Very classic..........I once crapped my pants at soccer practice. I told the coach I had a stomach ache but I really was afraid of spreading the mess around. I was disgusted with myself.

I did the same thing last year, Barry, only I was covering a race and running around with it. I tripped, fell flat on my face with the camera, and the front assembly flew off (mattebox, focus ring, UV filter) - it looked pretty bad as the front lens element was completely exposed.. but it worked just fine minus manual focus. Ended up costing around $500 - which is a lot less than I thought it was going to be - and it got fixed in two days.

Although, co-workers still needle me to this day about that one...

i broke my dvx last week. cracked the case...400 dollar repair...

basicly, i had it sittin on a tripod for a long time...like weeks...with a tiny quick release plate from my slr...attached to one of these...

with my wide angle attached to the front..i guess the weight and the time was too much for the case where the tripod mount is...it tore right around it...at first it seemed like it just messed up the mounting plate...but it acutaly damaged the main case as well...so it has to get fixed....lame lame lame...its in the shop now...

Well, I've never shat myself post childhood that I remember, but I did do something equally uncomfortable. Out in the woods, sneaking off to smoke cigarettes when nature calls - of the bowel variety. No TP to be found so leaves had to suffice. Did my business, used the leaves - no problem. That night however, I woke myself up scratching my ass crack feverishly in my sleep. Poison oak - in the bunghole. This was in high school so I spent the next few days squirming in my seat during class praying for the period bell to ring so I could scratch away in a bathroom stall and apply more cortizone cream.

I must say, though, a few days of hella-ass discomfort is nothing compared to a major camera repair. Sorry to hear about that, Barry.

Hey
I use to film myself skateboarding several years ago with a small jvc camera. Everytime the skateboard would fly out from under me it would go zooming towards the little lightweight tripod they give you at circuitcity or bestbuy when you buy small dv cameras. That camera fell at least 3 or 4 times, but luckily the legs were never extended so not much of a fall. I think cameras like the floor for some reason. scared of heights I guess

Hey thanks for all the support, guys. Hopefully, I won't make a habit of this. Incidentally, I will be finishing up the Fly Focus review, it should be done tonight and I'll get it posted asap. I've decided to repair the DVX myself because after assessing the damage, it *looks* like a straightforward job. The DVX focus assembly can be purchased directly from the Panasonic parts department and I think I can assemble and install the parts myself. Worst case--I send in the whole thing to a service center. Anyway, If I'm successful, I'll post my results. BTW, does anyone have the DVX100 service manual? I don't absolutely need it, but if would be helpful to look at a few exploded drawings and I don't feel like dropping an extra $50 if I can avoid it.

Don't have the manual but I did share the threat of having to pay $900 for the entire lens..... Man that would of hurt....

My lens is still pristine, so replacing it would be crazy. Unfortunately Panasonic isn't able to tell me what's included in the replacement focus ring assembly, but I guess I'll find out when it arrives. :) It was kind of fun getting the listing of all the replacement parts for the DVX. Man that camera has a lot of capacitors. With an infiinite amount of time and $17,000, you could build your own DVX from scratch.
