This is just weird - Optical illusion

Thats awesome. I just printed it out I'm gunna try this.

EDIT: that **** is impossible! I threw that **** in the ****ing garbage! ****!!

I haven't gotten around to printing it out, was going to try it later today.
Maybe the real illusion is the idea that it's even possible.
:)

I just put that f-ing dragon together, right...

At first I thought the gag was on me, and
that it was a gasser of a practical joke. I
was about to through the damnable thing
out in a rage of frustration, when...

I decided to try it from across the room, &
IT WORKS! This thing is quite a cool illusion,
but just be sure to stand a good FIFTEEN
FEET AWAY
before you fly off the handle
at that smirking blue bugger..

OH SNIZAPS!!! It totally works!! At first I had to cover one eye, but then both eyes caught on. This is pretty cool.

Alright, since we seem to be into optical illusions lately, check this out:

Watch the video, it's damn freaky.

Video hell... if you want to have a hard time getting to sleep tonight you GOTTA' take the 10 minutes it takes to MAKE ONE... I have one setting on my desk right now and it's freakin' me out. The illusion works so well it's nuts. You close one eye and it takes about 1 second to "lock in" and then you can't shake it unless you open the other eye. The harder you struggle to see the bends of the paper the more convincing the effect becomes.

I'm going to make a couple of these to take to work. If you think the video is crazy you should "experience" the feeling of that dragon tracking your slightest move. If I hadn't made it myself it would give me goosebumps.

I've got a niece that's 8 years old and I'll bet this gets more of a reaction out of her then any toy you could buy.

Thanks Luis.

For the record I used the cardstock that I'd normally use for cue-cards... it's the same thickness as a 3x5 card... and you don't need to be more then 3' away for 100% effectiveness. Not with the first one I made anyway. (8.5 x 11 sheet)

Another cool thing is the blue is kinda' dark... but with this format you could pop into photoshop and make him any color you want in 5 seconds.

That was really ... very ... wow ... well, I'm speechless for the moment. It may take me the next six months but I'm gonna figure out how to put that puppy together! Hmmm, I wonder if there are any origami classes at the local community college that could be of help.....

..i printed this thing out and its pretty cool. you only need to close one eye if your within about 5 feet or so.. any further back and you can have both open and it still works great.. cause the convergence point and offset of your stereo vison from one eye to the other is set back far enough to make the reference point more singular to the brain.. anyway .. its pretty cool.. good stuffs.

I'm making one of these for every kid I know... if you download the file and then resize it in photoshop you can print one out just for the instructions... which are really simple after you do the first one... and then use a magnetic lasso to cut out the dragon and paste it on the biggest sheet your printer can print... now click "image" then "adjustments" then "hue and saturation" and you can slide the color to anything you want.

You can make a few of these to take to a party where you know there will be kids (or leave them uncut and unfolded so that they still need to be made from the printed sheets) and you'll have a conversation piece that will come and go all night.

Oh and if you show up with a couple of these for the kids and help them make 'em you can have your pick of the single chicks at that party too... not that I'd know anything about that sort of thing.
