This is a solution for power supply on A7+++

If you have your A7+ (or 6300) on a tripod this way is very easy: Buy a swit S-8972 batterie, a tether tools "strapMoore" to attach the batterie at a tripod leg, buy a tether tools relay camera coupler to replace the NP-fw50 in the camera. Now you need only a DC cable from pol to pol (5,5 x2,5) and now you can use your camera almost the whole day.
It depends wherever you will buy it - here in Germany I paid roundabout 140 Euro for all that. If you consider, how expensive the original sony NP-fw50 are (and how bad the replacements are) - thats a bargain.
It seems to be a little bit more complicated to attach this solution to a camera cage. Sure you can use the strapMoore as well but its shaky and not solid. The "coollcd" company has something in their pipeline, what seems to be useful, but they are waiting for enough preorders to produce it . http://www.coollcd.com/smallrig-sony-np-f970-battery-s-box-1677/
Temporary I ordered there a batterie plate for Sony NP 970 Batteries, but its on the road and I cant say if the attachment is solid. I will see.

I would like to use two regulated D-Tap FW50-dummies, connected through a D-Tap Y-split-cable to one single BP-U battery.

Will it work to power two A7S simultaneously from the BP-U, will the voltage be stable and high enough for both A7S/II? Especially when the BP-U (I use SWIT http://www.swit.cc/productshow.aspx?id=3) may run down to 25% (1 LED, so around 14V total) at long takes (that's the reason why I want to get rid of the **** FW50 crap).

So, you are not using a coupler, but are permanently charging an original Sony FW50 battery while use/camera is powered on?
I've never thought about that. I would assume, this will slowly kill the Sony battieres over the time, but one could take cheap replacements after some weeks/months.

And it does have two USB ports, so my "2 cams simultaneously"-problem could be solved very easily (*edit: no, as the A7S does not allow USB powering;

Thanks a lot, sounds great.

I could even use/start with the SWIT batteries I have, because they have 5V USB output too. How much is the minimum amps one would need for charging (yours has 3.4 A max with 2.4A on each USB port, SWIT only 1 A)?

A7s2 allows for USB charge while on. I guess A7S does not? Not sure how much it will damage the batteries, well worth it if you don't have to worry about power for the whole day.

interesting video with current draw when using USB power: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ynrG1qUlVy0
no power: 1.37amps
Power: .5-.8 Amps.
It seems like there is some smarts as to how much it will pull from the USB power, i.e. not killing the battery. I'm not worried.
