This is a MUST SEE, New Trailer shot on DVX

You're right. I just hate negative remarks and feel the urge to comment back.... You can take the man out of the d'hood, but can't take the d'hood out of the man.

I laughed out loud a few times, which is more than I can say for many attempted indie comedies I've seen here and other places.

I agree about tightening. This might sound extreme, but I honestly think if the trailer were half the length it is now, you cut out the bottom half and kept the remainder, it would be a really strong trailer. Trailers are tricky. I look forward to seeing more.

Hey folks, our feature "M.O.G." shot on the DVX100 is being screened this month at:

* Official Selection *
SFV Film Fest, North Hollywood, 3-18, Saturday 11:30 p.m.

AND

* Official Selection *

Congrats on the film. I LOL a couple of times when viewing it.

The clerk in the store seemed really pissed "everbody wants to be somebody but we all can't" and "why did you make that comment about my toes (nose, tose?)" when he responds with that look "i don't know".

Cracked me up.

Also, I didn't think the acting is as bad as some make it out to be. They say comedy is the hardest form of acting to pull off and since we see a bunch of actors we aren't familiar with then they can be easy targets for criticism.

But, all in all, is seems like the story came from the heart. I look forward to seeing it when it makes it's way to the midwest.

Thanks, nice comments.... the girl says "Toes"... earlier in the bar, he picks up on her and makes a sexy comment about her toes...

Yeah, comedies are the hardest.... and new actors.... somebody has to break them in... that's our job as Indy film makers....breakin in the next generation of actors....

The bar is dark in the trailer... I should've lightened it up a bit...
On the big screen it looks great though... nice and seedy looking.... which is what we wanted.. a real L.A. bar, no frills...

Thanks for viewing....

Darryl

I like the project! Hope we will get a chance to see it on the east side of the states! Characters (and actors) seem likeable! "everyone wants to be a rock star!" Really liked the hint of music in it as well - made me want to hear more.

Thanks! I hope we can make a few festivals out your way....
So far, just in Los Angeles.... but we're working on it...

What is with this current trend of we filmmakers posting our videos here with "You Gotta See This" or "Awesome" or "Must see", or other such things? And when asked about it, the answer is, "Hey, it's self-promotion!" Some even get outraged when a negative reaction is posted. "Why did you say that when there is nothing I can do about it now?" - It's called learning. I suggest leaving self-promotion off the boards. We are a professional group, I hope. We are looking for honesty. If you don't want an honest reaction, don't post it here. If it's all tongue-in-cheek, forgive me - I missed it.

By posting a "positive" message and showing pride in one's work is inspiring to new filmmakers. If you ever produce a feature film in your career, you may understand what a major accomplishment it is and want to share the postive feeling with other filmmakers. It's not simply self promotion, there is nothing to be gained by promoting your film on this site. It's the sharing of positive engery to other filmmakers by saying, "Hey, look at what I did, you can do it to." By opening the doors and losing the fear is how we Indy's can accomplish larger goals in our careers.
