I'm working with the EX1r right now for the first time shooting a tv show for a well known network. I just wanted to take a minute to say that this cam is awesome. I have an HVX200 that I love dearly but the EX is ridiculous. Sharp, amazing low light....just wow.
 
EX1 cuts very well with the Varicam, better than the HVX for me. That said, props to the HVX... that was the camera that changed it all for me (though some years back now...).
 
The ex1 is pretty sick. I still love the hvx for narrative though. It took light better in my opinion.
