This battery cannot be used...

I have two batteries for the HMC

One is panasonic vbg260 7.2v 2500mah 18wh which works fine
and the other is a DTI (for panasonic vbg260) 7.4V, 1500 Mah which when fitted into
the battery slot, a message appears in the view screen that says
"This battery cannot be used"

Any Idea why?

Thank you!!

Before turning on, the camera talks to the battery electronically, and if it does not recognize it, it will not work. Besides that, a 1500 mah battery would not work well with your camera, it is too little.

DVXuser 5600mah Battery with hmc40? + Filter advice?

Does the DVXuser 5600mah Battery that they sell for 59 here work for the hmc40? I can't seem to find any previous threads about this, but if there is one I'd love for someone to point me in the right direction. I'm also figuring out what brand of polarizing and UV filters to get for my hmc- any tips or useful previous postings?

Thanks!

It does not. The DVXuser battery works with the DVX/HVX/HPX170 series, but not with the HMC or AF100 series, as those cams use their own new batteries.

For polarizing or UV, get the very best filters you possibly can. Never put a cheap piece of junk in front of your lens as it'll degrade every frame of footage you shoot. At the bare minimum get a Hoya HMC, and better yet would be a B+W or Heliopan.
