Thinking of renting out my baby

Any advice on the best way to go about renting out my HVX?

I have a nice package including lighting, sound and stabilizer equipment.

I've heard horror stories about people renting them out and never seeing them again, or getting them back damaged. How can I avoid this?

Should I get insurance to rent it out?

If so, what kind?

What price should I set?

Should I offer my services?

What's the best place to advertise?

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Search is your friend. The topic has been discussed extensively. Your insurance will not cover rental. You must obtain proof of insurance from your client. I do rent my equipment but am selective about it. The answer to the question of how much you charge is based upon the way you would calculate any job-- what is the going rate in your area and what are people willing to pay. As I said, might be great to do a search since we've been dealing with this question for months.
