Okay, guys,
I need a bit of advice here. Because of economic restraints, I use an old copy of Adobe Premiere Elements 1.0 for editing. I do not have the option of editing in 24p, so I shoot in 24pN. Elements will capture 24pA and edit it as well as 24pN (at 29.97fps), but I have been told that if I use 24pA and export to DVD, the video will be jerky because of the 2:3:3:2 pulldown, so I have not tried that yet.
Also, I shoot everything in squeeze mode because I like it.
Anyway, I've read that if you intend to export to DVD, you should set the v detail freq to thick to reduce jagged edges and flicker. Now, I read that if I want to shoot in squeeze, I should set the V Detail Freq to thin.
So, if I am shooting 24p in squeeze mode and editing in 29.97 for DVD, which V Detail Freq setting should I use for the best image without jagged edges and flicker?
I've used the search function but I haven't found a definitive answer to my particular situation. I would appreciate some advice.
