They've gone too far!

So you think you're safe if you walk to the bar?........not in Texas! If I was that bar owner I'd be looking for a good attorney.

Bars need to hire a designated drunk, basically an actor who pretends they're poo poofaced drunk to let the real louches get away.

(Obligatory preface:) Just to be devil's advocate here....

How is this so different than cops who go to strip clubs and hang out til they can bust (no pun intended) dancers for violating code? You pretty much know that when you go into certain places, that is what the establishment caters to.

If drunk driving is against the law, and people have driven to the bar to drink and are known to be "drunk" when they leave and get into their cars to go back home, then... why not at least bust them before they get out on the road and have the opportunity to get into an accident, damage vehicles, or whatever?

Also, 30 arrests out of 36 bars is much less than I would have thought something like this could net.

I'm just saying....

i think we should tag people when they are born like a bar code (haha)if they have the intelligents to do stupid things while being drunk, so to let others who drink responsible who are willing to let others drive who are less drunk.

Heard about that on the radio. Who defines what is public drunkeness? Some hold their liquor better than others, but neither can drive safely.

They should hang out in the parking lots, or go undercover as vallets.

That is really what it comes down to. Can you handle your liquor? Part of being a good drunk is knowing when to call the cab. I don't even drive to the bar anymore (when I go out). That way, I don't have to worry about leaving my car there overnight.

Or finding your car!

This will get political if I am not careful, but is that not what being an adult is about. Making responsible decisions, knowing what is wrong or right, when do people have the choice or right to do things they want without affecting others. This is not a party issue, more of a libertarian thing. A bit heavy for the topic, I am sorry, just seems to be the edge of a slope.

I couldn't agree more. When you start arresting people because they might get in a car later, that's where you're crossing the Minority Report line and you need to take step back.

this is when it really pays to chill in the house and take bonghits...oh wait, that's always worth it...

I want to say many things, but it will get me in trouble, and an interesting topic shut down. I think I need a drink.

That and I am a guest here. I understand that, so this is what I need to deal with. At least there are good folks like horse to drink with and be silly. Just have to stay on my couch.
