Thesis Film grabs

havent posted anything since Mr. Monkeys Birthday Suprise...been laying low since then haha

Grabs from my classmates film which I DP'd.

EDIT: Please do not comment on the quality of the image or exposure if you are not using a callibrated monitor or a production monitor. There is a major quality difference between what you see on a standard computer monitor and a decent well calibrated monitor.
tell me what you think

I can see them all right on my computer monitor. I like the lighting choices a lot. Did you run into a lot of issues with noise (it's hard to tell from stills)? Also, would you post the camera settings?

You know Peter Steele? LOL

You know Peter Steele? LOL

Just kidding. Seriously though, your performer looks a lot like the lead singer of Type O Negative. Anyways, what did you light it with? Kinda reminds of the end Halloween.

no real issues with noise on set. master ped-5, detail -4, thats all i remember.

in the way of lighting I had 2 arri kits and most of my setups consisted of 4-5 lights setup. usually 1 1k coming through the blinds.

I can see why people think its dark, i light pretty low key.I wish I would have shot this on film where it would be more sensitive to subtle changes in light

I was going to say the same about film. Not sure if you got what I was asking, I meant noise in the image, under low light.

I knew what you meant, I shot at 0% to give a rich black level, with gammas on normal and a cinelike matrix. I really didnt have any noise issues, the only sensitivity issues I had were with the yellow and some artifcating but I got rid of that pretty easily by changing light intensitys and individually tweeking color levels and temperatures in camera.
