There is already a clip with that same name in that location.

I just discovered a problem with clip running over two or three SxS cards. I copied the first two clip from the last two cards first into my hard drive using Clip Browser. I then copied the first clip from the first SxS card and recived the following error.

There is already a clip with the same name in that location.

Anyway how I resolve this problem? I already delete the clips from my last two SxS card so I can go back and do over again. I thought it doesn't matter which card you copy over to my hard drive. The Sony Clip Browser will automatically stich those three files in three SxS together into one. But that's not the case in this scenero.

You need to use the Clip Browser to combine cards into one folder. The reason is because the Sony application uses database files and updates them to tell the Browser where each clip is located.

You can use cut and paste operations in the Browser, so it is a simple matter to move clips from Card 2 on the HDD to Card 1 folder on the HDD.

But first, it is advisable to make a folder structure like this:

Assuming G: is your RAID drive:

G:\Today's shoot\Card 1
G:\Today's shoot\Card 2

Copy the BPAV folder from card one in the camera to the first folder on your RAID. Copy the BPAV from card two to the second folder on your RAID.

Open Clip Browser and navigate to Card 1 on your RAID. You'll see all the images that were copied from camera card 1. Navigate to Card 2. You'll see those images too.

Now you can select all images, right click and select CUT and then navigate to Card 1 and select PASTE. The images will be combined into Card 1. You can verify that card 2 folder is empty and then delete it. You can rename Card 1 to something else, using the Clip Browser ONLY. All renames have to update references in the database!
