Theory on DVX Look

I am trying to decide which camera will work for me best and it's tough. I am still partial to the DVX based on the image. The XL2 does look more crisp but in a video/hi def way.

From all the information I have gotten from this forum, here's what I believe is going on. The DVX seems to have a slightly softer look in the way that film tends to bleed colors together. This may be the CCD's, the firmware, or the prism, I'm not sure. In this, it also seems to soften things out of focus giving a slightly shallow depth of field look over the XL2 where everything is so damn clean. Also, there seems to be a better dynamic range making things seems fatter or more robust...more 3 dimensional.

I have no idea what technically is happening, just based on the images I've seen, this seems to be the case.

Any opinions? ???

I share your thoughts on the look of the DVX vs that of the XL2. I don't know what it is that causes this from a technical standpoint, though.
