Okay, so now that I have bared my "secret" scene of the sockless wonder... if anyone wants to add input, I'd love to hear the ideas. (serious ones as well as the funny ones!)

Now, I need to go shoot that basement scene! (but first, I better go put the licence plates back on my van and car!!!)
 
if you can re-shoot without screaming bloody hell faster than a perosn would if he was suddenly thrown inside a bloody hell, then do it

otherwise leave it be....i dont think people will be thrown off course when watching your film due to a sockless foot....maybe people wouldnt even notice if it werent for your big mouth ;-) (smilies see --> :):):):) )

i am sure you know that ALL big hollywood productions are full of stuff like that, but nobody really LOOKS for them unless they are really weird persons with no personal life whatsoever

Are you serious? I thought the DVX100b was supposed to frame properly in squeeze: http://www.dvxuser.com/articles/100b/

In regards to your question, I would try cropping out your foot and camera, and see how it looks before redoing the scene. But you have a week still, so even if you had to reshoot that scene you should have time; it didn't sound like a long complicated scene.

Yeah, you can get away with a certain amount of zooming in digitally before you lose resolution. But honestly, from some of the things you describe, it might just be faster to re-shoot, if you're really not happy. If you are not experienced with those programs or with post in general, it might just take a lot longer than a reshoot.

Hey apollyon. Thanks for the words. It isn't a complicated scene.... just don't want to have to create that rig for my camera again. (photo of LadderCam on first page of thread) I would probably never match the framing. But thanks. I am going to take a look at cropping. Maybe re-shooting.

As for the squeeze mode on the LCD of the 100B. Yes. It does show proper aspect ration BUT there is an underscan of 10%! (10% of what you see is NOT on the LCD.) This is a contridiction of the the advertised feature that the 100B now gives you overscan on the LCD. (In 4:3 mode, EVERYTHING you see on the LCD is on the tape.)

thanks, I guess I should re-check the first page every now and then...I just come straight to the end of these threads to see what's new. I guess this would explain why I had issues like yours...stuff like mics from a boom in the shot when I thought they weren't. I just thought I didn't see it due to the OSD on the LCD or something.

Try the crop first to see if it's good or not, it's easy enough to do, and if you don't like it, then you can reshoot. Good luck man.

Yep! This is how I discovered the 10% underscan! Camera deck in the shot!

Hey Theatre Guy, It's me the awful master of C2TC Productions (seems that the more I post, the more maniac I become :Drogar-Love(DBG):)...

Checked out the whole thread about "I.D.". Got to say you are doing a great job!

I got really impressed with the ladder idea and since I always wanted to be some sort of 'Bob the Builder' you gave some some good ideas. I suggest that after Horrorfest we should exchange some ideas in the D.I.Y. session....

Another thing that was really impressive is the blood on the ceiling, I mean... WOW :thumbup: Very good job mate! ...oh yes and the porn collection is an essential part :beer:!

As for reshooting and planning, I 'll stick to John's words and add that is extremely difficult to have one person think about almost... everything (that's John in our case). I think that we will discuss these things before our next project so to be as ready as possible...

Yeah... very, very happy with the dripping blood seq. I wish that I could use more of that footage, but it is only a 6 min. fest!!! (And I have like 30 min.s of that footage at different zooms. Just have to save it for a rainy day!) :zombie_smiley:
