TheatreGuy's "ID"

Well, there's a plus to the job. The American Legion just brought me breakfast. Pancakes and Sausage. It's damn good too. I hope its not poisoned :)

Consider the following:

a) Theatre Guy and MovieMaster have never been seen in the same room at the same time.

b) There are Ten Letters in THEATREGUY; There are Ten Letters in MOVIEMASTER

c) Ted's wife is named DIANE; MovieMaster's wife is named ENAID

d) Movie Master's original avatar was a ladder with horns attached to the top

Oh, and Ted,

I laughed at the fact that I don't think anybody actually realized that THEATREGUY and MOVIEMASTER actually do NOT both have ten letters :)

HAHAHAHA!!!! No, no video's of last night. Not much watching two old farts fall asleep! ;) [insert WINK]

Mark, you mean that "THEATREGUY" doesn't have 10 letters???? I keep counting and re-counting.... I get 10 every time!!!! :)

Just finally getting the time to copy the notes I compiled in a Word doc while watching the shorts:

This was REALLY cool finally getting to see the face behind Ted, AKA Theater Guy. I realized about part way through since EVERY shot was static (non-moving) that “geez, this guy’s probably the actor, and is doing all the camera work too!”. So for that, my hat’s off to you. Much more than I’d want to attempt, and you did a GREAT job at it. That said, you’ll improve as an overall filmmaker to involve more folks/talent into your next project, so you can focus more attention onto certain things. My biggest quip with the editing would be that there were too many fade transitions … hard cuts would be more appropriate. The van pulling in, for example, it would have had a different & more staccato feel to have hard cuts vs. fade transitions, especially since there really wasn’t but a few seconds of time passing in between each cut. Looking at the credits, it looks like that’s your wife that really played your wife as well? How much fun was that for her to call you all those names, lol?! For the story, I’m not sure I understood the final end. Did she have something to do with his death, or just could care less that he killed himself? Did he kill himself after going crazy in the dark, or were all those things real or imagined (him being in the basement with the bad flashlight, etc.)? Great job, Ted, specifically for doing a one-man-show. Next time add a crew & more talent and you’ll probably see a massive improvement! I know I sure did once I started working with others, each with their own specialty. Oh, and I found myself laughing outloud with the constant F-bomb, especially when the first knock at the door came. J

Hey Norm, thanks a lot man...

Thanks for the critique. You bring up a lot of good points and I appreciate you taking the time to identify and expound. Mucho gracias!

Hopefully next time, I'll be able to show some growth!

(Yes, that's my wife!)

Ted

Ted your thread turned in to Captain kangaroo's silly slapathon? were you pumping laughing gas through that ladder?

lets bring some seriousnes back into this game!

TEd made a valiant effort with this film. Plus it had the really scary lady in the basement. That got me.
