Theatre Ready DVD

Hello.

I have a client who is asking for a "Theatre Ready DVD" for submission to a film festival. Perhaps someone could give me an idea as to what that is? Would that be a HD DVD or Bluray or maybe a "digital cinema package"?

I would have said DCP except for that they've asked for a DVD. I'd instruct the client to ask the festival for their guidelines. Different festivals have different requirements.
 
Thanks. I did email my client and am waiting for the festival guidelines. I was just trying to be a bit proactive. In the meantime, I'm leaning toward DCP.

DVD (by definition SD, not HD), Blu-ray, and DCP are three completely different things, not at all interchangeable.

When you get the festivals' guildlines you and your client will have a basis for discussion for what final delivery has to be.
