The worst thing a client ever said to you.

"It will look great on your reel."

"I like the 3rd version but I have a better whole new idea."

"I'm in the wrong business."

"The band has to get paid first."

"We only use Canon cameras for our projects."

"put your clothes back on and that will be $20..."
"oh and make sure you put czech in the male."

"Time for our favorite part, ripping apart your hard work" They weren't kidding either.

I've gotten those exact words, as well as:

"I've got 8 other things I should be doing than reviewing your work." (client review scheduled at his request)

Oh, and if you're liking this thread, you have just GOT to check out Clients from Hell.

Potential Client: "I have a certificate in media presentation (i.e. glorified degree in PowerPoint). I know how video production works."

Same potential Client: "I don't see how a half hour fitness video (that she was starring in) should take more than an hour to edit".

Potential client never became more than that.

I was editing a project with a producer & client.

After it was clear she (Prod) was way over her head, the client turned to me and said; "She's a f*cking idiot isnt she"!

Still one of the most odd moments of my 20+ year career.

"I know you're worth it but I don't want to pay you!"

"I'm sorry, I actually thought you would be older from what I had heard." (I'm 24)

while unpacking the truck on one of my first big projects: A well known, top end DP suddenly comes up to me outside the production studio...

"oh you must be my AC?"

"Oh hello sir, i think were working on different prjects, im DPing the XXXXXXXX music Video"

"oh yea they called me for that about 3 hours ago.. your ACing now..."

I packed my shi* up and went home. told client to go F himself. literally.

needless to say the project wound up a disaster, and it never aired....

Worst thing is waaaaayyyy too hard to pick (and emotionally agonizing)

Here's one of the best:
"you wanna direct us in a porn?"
From a couple of dancers I made kiss for a music video, it was both their first time kissing another girl... guess they liked it :)

Potential Client: "I have a certificate in media presentation (i.e. glorified degree in PowerPoint). I know how video production works."

That kind of crap drives me up a FREAKING wall. "Oh, oh, I own a camera, so I know how to edit. I'm really talented at everything I do and even though I have no real experience in ANY of this, I'll dictate how the whole thing should go."

...PITA

I shoot weddings on the side,

Bride emails me tips that the PHOTOGRAPHER thought I should do like,

He thinks you should not use a lavalier mic on the groom

Be sure to bring a tripod.

I've had a few potential clients do that sort of thing... they never get past the potential part. They tend to be the type that also wants everything for next to nothing.

I'd send them an email back making sure the photographer uses a bracket for his strobe to prevent red eye.
