the word "letterbox"

[Zim]

I was watching a video podcast. The guy was talking about why they started useing the term "letterbox" . He said some people said it looks like the size of the opening of a mailbox, but he said he couldn't really find who coined the term or why.

Anyone know?

Some good FAQ on that site, thanks.

Though I'm amazed to hear that there are websites battling for and against widescreen! It's an aspect ratio, sheesh.
