The way a camera demo should be done.

Well, I would argue that it's not a camera demo, but rather a camera promo.
Arguably any camera looks good with controlled lighting these days.
However, that said, the taste level of this promo is far better than what anyone else is doing.

RED's marketing and pathetic hard boy wannabee, skull and cross bones tattoo on their butts stupidity actually lost them $50,000 of my money.
So which do you prefer, high end good taste or silly over grown adolescent fawning?

You choose.

^ Exactly my reaction as well.

I particularly liked the soft confident tone (in contrast with the "I'm more man than you" tone that RED exhales).

^ EVERY FRIDAY

(not an Arri fanboy because I can't possible afford their gear, but this was laid out perfectly, I couldn't resist)

Arri has always had class-leading skin tones.

That's true. Let's face it, for 90% of the work out there that's what it comes down to as well.

Can't tell you the number of times I have had to fight bad color science with RED's skin tones. (I often grade other peoples projects)
Weird orange thing happens sometimes, even with Dragon. Occasionally nuances are just not there whatever you do in post.
I believe Morgan Moore's comments about things looking like "wood" aptly describe it. Never had that with the Alexa.

5 years running, and that sensor still is putting out the best looking images out of any digital camera currently available. It's just too good.

Same take away after watching this. And question. I'm sure Arri is developing something next. I know they've just released Alexa 65 but I think it will be used only on small percentage of films where normal Alexa would be used. So I think this will be next step- to update Alexa. I'm wondering what it will be, as sensors advancements per se are going through the roof (look at BMD 4.6K sensor).

Ok, now, let me watch that promo again... ;) :P

Those images were jumping out at me! They looked incredibly real, almost 3d. I'm definitely looking at my t3i with a twinge of jealousy.
