The Two Men (Feauture Film)

Whats up Fellow Dvx'rs, this is a movie I worked on last year. It was actually my first movie, and it was done by hard work and dedication. The story was written in a total of 7 days by me and the director Alekandr, and the film itself was shot in a total of 6 days in over of a period two months. The total buget for the film was $3200, and that includes post and pre-production.

I'd like any pointers I can get, and also will answer and questions you might have.

This film was also an official selection at the Mammoth Film Festival.

Here is some technical information:

7 Person Crew
2 DVX100a's
Edited on Adobe Premier Pro 2.0/As well as Adobe Edition/Adobe After Effects/Adobe Photoshop
Plus two filter packages, first a black and white filter, second a sharpening filter.

Although this is not my type of deal, here's my thoughts:

A. Grab someone else to cut the trailer.
B. If possible, run the footage through a good "stabilization" filter. Nothing too drastic.

I see some good potential, personally. There are shots that I like floating around in the trailer, kinda reminds me of early early Rodriguez work. particiulary his film school shorts.

Yes, that is the exact same thing I told my friend, also director of the movie. Cutting the trailer in half would definatly make it twice as good.

Hes definatly got potential, but the budget wouldn't allow us to do anything out of the box.
 
my suggestions:

I would say its too long for the information it give us. Cut it down to a minute or a minute thirty. (not sure what the standard length should be, just feels long)

The cu's of the actors don't match the cards and aren't really dynamic. They become redundant. I would find shots that give the audience a better feel for the narrative.

I am not sure what the music is suppose to evoke but it seems off given the material. I would choose something that builds for a trailer like this.
