The Tunnel - A Short Film by Ocean Zen
Hope this is the right forum to show a short. This is my final Uni project filmed with the Canon HV20, and Raynox wide angle lens (660? can't remember)

Effects and colour correction done in After Effects. Edited with Final Cut Pro

Synopsis
This short film explores the power of the mind and it's infinite ability to create our surroundings and experiences. The use of Hyper-Real Sound Design, intense music and heightened visuals take the audience on a journey from life to death, or is the whole experience a vivid hallucination?

Nice! Kinda creepy, good music, liked the overall feel of the film. Interesting metaphor for the theme.

Nice job. I don't know if I got it, but it was interesting. I especially liked the shot when he was crawling up (or down) the stairs and the camera was parallel with the angle of the stairs. I wanted to see more of it. Did you makes those VFX live and composite them in?

I wasn't sure what the first fade to black was all about, it seemed odd. I thought it could've been a cooler flash something-or-other that shows a time shift or whatever it is.

The music was good and sound too.

Thanks for your comments.
The up/down the sirs bit didn't need any FX, I just matched the shots in editing.

I did intend the story to be slightly ambiguous, so you were'nt sure if he was dead and going to heavn or just hallucinating. I just hope everybody got A story if not the story.

Thanks :)

I really like it till around 2:30 when the black 2-D stuff started blocking the exit.

I can see what you're going for, but it just didn't appeal to my personally. I don't mind not knowing "what" happens at the end of films, but knowing "why" imho is extremely important to have any effect on the audience. The 2-D looking animation just looks really weird and too "artsy" for the gritty/cool style of that location and the sound design.

But the opening sound design, the location, and the look are all very cool and professionally done.
