Hi everyone,
I am currently in pre-production for my capstone project for college. I am the director of photography and a producer.
It is a 15-20 minute narrative drama about a man who has grown up and lived in the same small town all his life with the same friends. He has never reached the potential that he always saw his life as having, and after secrets are revealed through a child hood game he decides to make changes in his life.
I want to let everyone know how the process is going along the way. I will be sure to post all the problems that arise, our plans, the solutions etc. So first for some info on how we are accomplishing this short.
We will be shooting on the Dvx100b. We are hiring actors through various connections and craigslist. We are gathering locations, but we have run into a snag. We found the perfect location but the woman is asking $250 dollars per day and we were planning on giving her $300 as a flat fee. We are trying to woo her into letting us use her property.
We have access to 2 Lowell omni light kits. We have a decent boom mic and pole and a sure mixer.
Thats all I have now on the matter. We are hoping to start shooting the first weekend in February.
