I normally make interview and product videos for an AV website surrounding consumer electronics, so this style of film is not my usual comfort zone and I am still very much learning the craft of video making and ask you go gentle on me

Composed and shot for the 2.35:1 ratio on the Panasonic AG-AF101E (AF100) this is the first time I have shot in my home town of Hawick in the Scottish Borders.
I haven't lived in the town for over 15 years now and I shot this video over a three day break in August visiting family.
This was also the first time putting together something like this with the AF101 and I made a few mistakes along the way. With the ever changing weather and light, exposure was the hardest issue to deal with and some shots are over exposed with blown highlights. It was graded with Magic Bullet II.
I wanted to show as many of the positives of the town as possible but in doing so my other regret was not using a slider or jib to add some motion to shots, especially in the park section.
I learnt a lot about the AF101 and what was missing shot wise from putting this together and it has been a great learning curve. I also hope I did some justice to the town and those from Hawick enjoy it.
It was the first time I had seen the Steve Hislop Memorial in the park and I think they chose a great spot. I hope the commentary with those shots doesn't offend, I wanted to get across the fact he was a super bikes and TT ace.
Majority of the shots were done at 24:60p (so no sound) most of the sound effects are separate recordings or effects.
