The tilt of F3 viewfinder

Hi,

I saw the image on F3 on mr Philip Bloom's website:

the vf of the camera was bent down slop but I can not do that with my F3.
I think it's useful when assembly the rig.

Is it normal to tilt like that?

He has the Berkey plates on the camera, but the viewfinder does not have to be removed to install that.

The hinge on the VF is a little weak. Easy to break like that.

Hello Nate, I see you say here that you removed your viewfinder....something I'd really like to do as I have never used it. Any guidelines on how to do that removal safely?
Thanks,
PM

I removed the vf as well. Cut some cardboard and tape it on the lcd to keep it safe....so far I had no issues.

Same here, I used a piece of thin mouse pad, type foam from craft store. Cut a little square and it slides right into grooved holder that held VF rear part. (for protecting glass) Then just get a black wrist band and sew up one side and it makes a perfect cover for a removed VF.
