I'll go with "happy accident", sure. I'm not the type to take credit where it's not due!
I'm not the biggest Tarantino fan out there so I didn't really intend this to be an ultimate compendium of homages and easter eggs. The main reason being that I didn't want to have to try to emulate his dialogue style. There was one more visual reference planned that didn't work out, which I mentioned in an earlier post: the drone shot outside. Part of the idea behind that was to suggest the overhead restaurant shot following Uma Thurman from Kill Bill. After two hours of trying and not getting a usable take, I scrapped the drone and we reworked it on Steadicam. Here's one of the later takes.
