FEATURE: The Suicide Theory

Lads and Ladies,

Recently, we began a project that we wanted to share with the world. We discovered a script that literally blew our minds and we were automatically thrust into optioning the script for production. I hope you will join us on this insane journey to make our second feature film - The Suicide Theory.

ONE LINE: A suicidal man hires a demented killer to assist him in suicide, but for some reason, miraculously survives each attempt on his life.

SYNOPSIS: STEVEN RAY was never quite normal. But when the love of his life ANNIE is killed in a hit-and-run incident at a city cross walk, his violent and bizarre behavior becomes uncontrollable. One night, as Steven plots his next murder, a body drops from the sky and lands on his cab.

Enter PERCIVAL, who’s unsuccessful attempt at jumping off a building not only interferes with Steven’s plans, but the chance encounter also introduces the two into each other’s sad and lonely lives. Percival believes he’s cursed after miraculously surviving each suicide attempt and concludes fate brought he and Steven together. So, he hires Steven to assist him in suicide. Steven does not believe in fate and thinks Percival is desperate and delusional. But he accepts the offer. Easy money.

After Percival continues to miraculously survive each attempt on his life, Steven starts to believe. He tries to help Percival figure out ways to break the curse. And in the process, they form an unlikely friendship through the common bond of tragedy.

As we make this film, I will be updating things on here as much as I can. Hopefully I can learn as much from you as our experiences give you an even greater understanding of the film making process.

We have created a Facebook fanpage where you can keep up with the progress of the film as well: https://www.facebook.com/TheSuicideTheoryFilm

Welcome. When you get closer to production if you're looking for crew drop me a message, I'd be keen to help out.

Thanks guys :) Progressing forwards every day and gaining ground to make this film. The shooting part will be the easy bit! Although from what we learned during our last film, we are so much more prepared for this one. We were going in blind with our last feature and it turned out ok...just sold to the US and a few other territories. Not for millions or anything, but for our first film it's a pretty amazing feat. So we are taking our successes, and more importantly the lessons of our failures from the last film and making sure we make this one even more successful. Although we will be targetting this one at festivals rather than straight up sales...

It was an indie feature called Sleeper. Sold to the US for DVD and VOD which was kinda cool...never thought we would crack the US market with it seeing as it's got Aussie accents through it! But was pretty cool to find our sales agents sold there :)

Hey guys, just another update...got some poster art/concept art for the "Percival" character. Will post a few up today and tomorrow as they come in from our artist. What do you think?

We have also just released another promo video which gives us an insight into the character 'Steven', and the torment he is going through. It's created as a minute of his life. I hope you enjoy.

Looking good! The concept kind of reminds me of a college project I helped on, except we did that as a black comedy. Keep up the good work, and keep us updated.

Guys and Girls, we have just received a new piece of concept art from our artist. Damn he's good!

We have also just gone live with our Indiegogo campaign. All the concept art and trailers have been included on there.

Since we are still pretty new to this whole crowd-finding thing, I was hoping some of you would be able to assist us in some advice on campaign success and hints and tips on helping us get the word out there...any help is so greatly appreciated. We cannot wait to make this film, so input is invited.

Thanks :)

Well, here's a surprising update!

Last night, the Director Dru Brown, was contacted by John Heffernan - writer of Snakes on a Plane! John sent a message to dru...

"Gorgeousness and gorgeousity and seriously some of the best film work I've seen online (or in theaters for that matter) this year."

So that's a pretty sweet wrap for the concept and pitch videos we put up :)

Lads and Ladies, it's now been neearly 4 days since we have launched. We are getting donations and such, but still not having the 'transfer rate' of fans to supporters we were hoping for. Since we are quite new at this crowd funding thing, does anyone have any advice, tips or stats they would like to share about their own campaigns such as what worked and what didn't work? What kind of marketing worked best for you? How did you structure your pitch video? If you want to check out our campaign, we are always open to cronstructive criticism and advice on how to improve not only our campaign, but our overall process from marketing to film making...

The other day, we had some annonymous person give $5000 to the film. No idea who they were....

We're stunned...shocked...so thankful.
