The Strike Is Over!!!

The networks were really reaching there for a bit. You know we were 3 weeks away from the new reality game show "Who has the STD"

Thats the one were you pick from 12 strangers and fornicate with them...If you get no disease you get 5 grand if you get infected then you you go home with nothing but VD.

welcome back WGA save us from the "creative" minds of studio execs.

Ok I made that show up...But you get what I am saying.

Okay boys and girls, here it is hot off the press (WSJ online, 2/13 12:32AM EDT):

WRITERS END THEIR WALKOUT - Return to work on Wednesday

The vote by 3,775 of the guild's 10,500 members reached a tentative deal for a three year contract (92.5 percent affirming the contract offered by the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers).

Okay WGA colleages, back to work! <wink> ...the Oscars will be here in 11 days!

BTW, I was intrigued by this quote from the WSJ:

..... Some networks executives have predicted that the strike will be
..... a catalyst for reinventing the entire development cycle for (TV) shows.

What's this all about?

Happy Trails,

Michael

If there are any writers (union, non-union, students) out there looking for a little back-to-work inspiration Wednesday morning check out my newest blog Screenwriters Head Back-To-Work. I tried to give a fresh perspective on what it means to mix creativity and work.

Here's the abridged version; "Art is Work." Milton Glaser

Actually, that shot was taken outside Cape Town, South Africa near Table Mountain. But it does have a Big Sur feel. I was down there shooting a doc back in '05. When my DVX dies someday I'm going to gold-plate it like they used to do baby shoes and put it next to my workstation and remember all the place she took me. (Is a DVX a she? I'm not sure Barry covered that in the manual.)

Alex, you have some great stuff on wordpress. I'm going to have to get back there when I have more time. Love the visuals and the layout.
