Hi Paul. Just finished watching your film. You are one sick puppy!(just kidding)
If someone asked me to describe your film, I'd say "Arthouse Horror" and/or "Macabre Poetry".
There were 2 narrator's right? Or was it supposed to be the same guy on both parts?
I'm curious as to your intent for this film. Is the goal one of shock? I'm trying to figure out where this would play well. I'm thinking at underground horror fests and experimental fests... but man, you picked a tough sell imho. It's gutsy to create unsafe art, and this my friend is unsafe art!!
The first thing I wanted to compliment you on was creative set design and photography that allowed you to make the most of limited resources. I thought it would get old that there is no background in so many of the sets, but it really didn't.
Even when his rants skirted the border of rationality, they remained coherent to his character, which is impressive--somehow beyond so many "legitimate" feature films.
My only real beef came in the second half of the film. The killer is narrating a lot, and the narration is good, but the voyeur photography made the whole thing feel disconnected--like the video could have been edited together in any way and it still would have made just as much sense.
It makes me want to put a feature together without worrying that it has to sweep the awards at Sundance or else it's a failure.
Best measure of success is to please yourself artistically. If you can do that the rest is gravy.
