Thanks again, I will order it and have bought the Zacuto Z-Finder Recoil kit baseplate and extension arm etc. Sorry for the rant.... I never had these issues with my old Iki.

I'm still trying to decide between the Vocas monitor support with a loupe and a dedicated EVF. The EVF options are the higher end Zacuto ones (Gratical Eye, Kameleon) or something cheaper like the PortKeys LEYE https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1611309-REG/portkeys_leye_4k_hdmi_electronic.html
For the higher-end Zacuto EVFs, purely in terms of image quality... are they amazing? How do they compare to the EVF of the a7Siii? I film pretty much exclusively with some form of viewfinder so if they are head and shoulders above putting a loupe on the LCD this might be the way to go.
I'll post my current handheld setup next time I rig it up. I cant be bothered with V-mounts because the IDX-SU98s last so long but they'd really make a difference to the overall balance. Toying with the idea of a Tilta Nucleus system to have focus motor mapped onto a handgrip.
Do you mean the idx SB U98 .. BPU style batts .. how inaccurate is the remaining time in the EVF.. apparently Sony wont give out the info to other manufacturers, is it always the same at least when it dies without warning .. thanks
Yep sorry those ones. Truth is I have never gotten to the end of one yet. I have 2. Readout is the same each time. Seems very accurate. I once got a low battery warning and the readout said 40mins left and I carried on shooting for 25mins and it was all fine. D-Tap plus USB on them plus D-Tap charging if you use the IDX charger thingy, which I don't. My day's shoot on Wednesday used one batt all day.
I've used both the 28-135 & 18-110 on an FS700 & FS7 for years...run and gun, on my shoulder, w/o rails and support and never had a problem, not saying it couldn't happen but I've had no issues. Having said that, the locking mount on the Fx9 (though a pita) seems bullet proof as mine recently barrel rolled off a table with the 28-135 attached and it survived. I don't need that kind of stress.
