The Sigma 24mm f/1.8 on the GH1

http://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/dsc/connect/g1.html - according to this table, there will be no autofocus

I'm thinking of trying this on the GH1:

Anyone have any experience? I need a faster lens for video: seems all my indoor shots end up at ISO 1600 and very noisy so I need a relatively inexpensive fast lens. This lens (with the 4/3 to micro 4/3 adapter of course) will auto focus on the GH1, right? Do you think it'd be OK for video?

Thanks,
Mike

Wow! That table was exactly what I was looking for but couldn't find for whatever reason via Google. Now I'll know what I'm getting myself into. FWIW, I don't understand why the lens couldn't focus even if it might be slow. Contrast autofocus simply tries the focus back and forth until it sees the most contrast. Since the camera should have control of the focus, I don't see why it couldn't do it. I believe you (and the table)... just think it's a little odd.

Edit: after further reading the footnotes on that page, it appears that basically NOTHING works with the GH1 video recording except the 14-140 lens when recording in 1080. No other lens can autofocus while recording FHD in AVCHD. So if you want the full video capability of the GH1, your lens choices look really limited right now (one).
