I have had my DVX for just about a month and have shot a number of commercials and short form videos (60i and 24p respectivley). I have pretty much left my settings as they are out of the box, I'll adjust chroma or pedestal as needed, would anyone care to share there "default" settings in 60i/24p? I know what works for one person doesn't mean that will work for someone else, but it would be fun (for me anyway, my wife just found out what a geek she married) to see what others settings look like.

i am far from an expert...

try playing with the master ped. this controls the blacks. the default is often 0 or -5 depending on the f1-6 setting you chose.

try increasing it -6 -7 etc.

try turning the chroma settings up and down.

what i do is take an 8.5x11 notebook and a large sharpie and write down the settings and hold it in front of the camera and get that logged on the screen inbetween different experiments.

the worst thing is to get a look you like but when you watch the footage you forget which settings you had then
