The Salton Sea-AF100 and Gh2

Great video
I'm projecting to shoot a music video there , unfortunatly it will have to be in june ( super hot weather will be a challenge)
And I wouldn't mind if you have any basic advice for me.
I will have the lead singer to direct and two people to assist me. We plan to sleep on site the night before and start shooting super early in the morning, some shots in the afternoon and the reminder at sunset.
I'm a little anxious about changing lens as well but I won't have much choice ( planning to do so in the car if possible)

Any advice would really be welcome

Thanks
Seb

June can get hot. yes, change lens in a car or something. depending on the weather, your car can reach undesirable temps, so arrive at the sea with a full tank of gas incase you need to run the car idle with A/C going on low. Maybe buy some widow shades to keep the car cool. DO NOT OPEN THE WINDOWS of your car or you might get 1000's of bugs in it. Take LOTS of water as there are not many places to get supplies. Bring bug off or something because if you are close to the water near sunset, you will be sorry for no bug deterrent. Don't mind the smell, you'll get used to it.

You better check if the state parks are open for camping. Cut backs in the state funding have closed many of them.

For your camera and gear. Cover the camera with a white shade to reflect heat away. I would make a white cooler your days camera case to help in keeping the camera cool. depending on the winds, watch for water spay if near the shore, it's many times saltier than the ocean.
Good luck! It's a crazy place but very beautiful in a certain way.
