Hey everyone, I looked around and noticed there were lots of 48 hour project films being posted up here as of late, so I figured why not post my own. Anyway, "The Sale" was made for the Tampa/St. Pete 48 Hour Film project. However, we didn't actually have 48 hours to make this film-- we actually had been shooting an entirely different entry for the first 30 hours or so (it was centered around the dawn of human civilization and man's discovery of fire...it was a comedy) when our main actor was injured during a small stunt. We had a montage of him smashing timber together, and it just so happened that during the action his finger got caught between two large branches and the tip of his ring finger split open like a snake tongue. He had to be rushed to the ER and received 20 stitches on the tip of his finger and 10 inside his finger to hold it together, as the accident had basically entirely shattered his ring finger-- nail, nail root, flesh, muscles, bone...it was horrifying. Anyway, we were informed later that evening that he wouldn't be able to shoot the following day, so, at 1:00 AM of the final day, we had to start from scratch. We made an entirely new script, shot an entirely new short, and edited it together in about 18 hours or less. "The Sale" is the product of this madness.

Here's what we drew from the hat:
Genre: Historical Fiction/Period Piece
Line of dialogue: "How could you do this to me?"
Character: Bob/Barbara Percival (food connoisseur)
Prop: Hair dryer

The film was received very well at the screening and has been nominated for at least 2 awards. The awards ceremony is tomorrow night, so I'll let everyone know how it goes.

UPDATE: Heres what happened at the ceremony--
Nominated for:
Best Acting- Male
Best Acting- Female
Best Costumes
Audience Choice Award

Awards:
Best Acting- Female
