The RED contest

...is getting a little out of hand.

I know that it's open to all ideas (as it should be), but damn it's full of crap. :furious3:

About 3/4 of the posts are lame joke posts - normally by brand new members who haven't posted anywhere else. And then these threads are kept alive by other first time posters with nothing constructive to add. :banned:

I know I know, I don't have to go in that section if I don't want to. But when a "New Posts" Search is 80% RED contest spam, it is starting to get damn annoying. :kali:


I think it woudl be perfectly acceptable if the mods could go through and clean out some of the obvious jokes from there. A silly cliche joke by a longterm member is fine (yes, the red should clunk when it's off..) But the endless threads of "jet engines for power" and "vhs" are out of control.

There are 413 threads in there. I'll be damned if 50 of them are original serious ideas. No one even bothers to read the allready posted ideas before posting repeates either, but with that much bull to wade through, I'm not sure I can blame them.

ha...I agree. Unless you were referring to my posts of course!

I think most of the ideas are really great. I just personally think that if all these people are handing over free mental labour to Mr.Jannard and his crew, they should be compensated a hell of a lot better than just receiving a spot to purchase the first round of cameras. Thats what I think is a joke. This is North America. Not China.
At least hand out some free shades.

Better yet go buy some of Hudsons. Way cooler.

I just think it's a hoot that a forum other than the cafe is accused of being out of control. Perhaps you should make your post there as many RED forum frequenters never even venture outside that forum.
 
I'm 3 years out of highschool- I need to get going on that Stedicam pretty soon.

Never been to Alaska.

And as for the attitude... you can all go to hell.

Okay, can I bring a Stedicam as my carry-on?

The dot's are something I came up with after a member on another forum would sign his name: First "always making funny coments" Last, etc.. So I mixed it up and turned it into elipsis. It's my little way of trying to be funny or allowing me to add snide comments to my posts.

I vacation in Alaska in the summers, back to Finland in Sept.
