The Real Pixel Resolution of the HVX

Hello!

I found some articles about the HVx 200 on Wikipedia.
Please, see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hvx.

There is written: "The camcorder [...] uses a small 960x540 pixel CCD, but manages to achieve HD resolution by employing both horizontal and vertical pixel shift".

I don't know, is it true, what is published on Wikipedia. Anyway I am not a technician, but I guess for the normal NTSC-signal in Standard Definition Video (SD) a resolution of 720x480 pixels is standardized. In this case Wikipedia's information about the resolution is enough to fulfill the NTSC format.

But: What's about the standardized formats 720i/p oder 1080i/p? The HVX is only blowing up the pixels to the real HD resolution by technical trick, or?

As you can see in my DVXuser-profile my residence is Germany - that means: I am very interested in the European version of the HVX. Now, I am sceptical because I ask myself, what pixel-size will the European HVX have?

On Panasonic's website I don't find any information about it. Also asking german distributors is of no avail because they don't know it, too.

I'm afraid the European HVX will blow up pixel in/for the PAL-standard, also. That means the video picture is captured in 960x540 pixels, but blowed up/down to 720x576 in SD.

Does anybody have information about the pixel-size or pixel resultion of the European HVX?

Thanks for your answers.
bye

You know I would never normally say this, I'd just let it go because it's not my board, but I can't help but say...

If you did a search you'd find that this has all been discussed on the site in a galaxy far far away...

And that's to all the other users who've appeared over the past week or so asking questions that have been answered more than once (or 50 times!)
