The real difference:

FS7 does Cinema 4k.
FS5 does UHD only.

FS7 does LUTS in SLOG.
FS5 does not show luts, making the use of SLOG a guessing game.

FS7 does 422 in 4K internal.
FS5 does 420 in UHD internal.

FS7 does XAVC I.
FS5 does XAVC L.

FS7 is Netflix approved.
FS5 is not Netflix approved.

Where's the rest of your list? You've barely scratched the surface of the differences between and FS5 and FS7.

In real use they have familiar controls but at the same time are two completely different cameras.

Hey actually yes you can use "luts" in the fs5, they don't call it LUTS in the camera though - frustrating. I believe it's called "gamma display assist" or similar. It's a lot like the a7sii in that regard. The easiest is to just add a rec 709 gamma display assist when shooting LOG with the fs5.

For me, the number one annoyance about the fs5 versus fs7 is that when you are shooting S LOG, you need to go into the menu and change the gamma setting to change the white balance. It was maddening the first time I was on set simply trying to adjust the white balance (which is pretty embarrassing on set...)

I also find the lack of ability to name clips very frustrating about the fs5.

I know that my fs7 is a bit of a "prosumer" camera in many regards, but the fs5 takes that feeling even further. BUT wow it's small and light. sometimes that matters the most.
