The Prestige

ya. Jackman's got a couple good films coming out this year. This one, The Fountain, and i may go see Scoop to see if its any good.

prestige is going to be great though

Prestige has David Bowie in it, which is cool. About time he makes another appearance. (since Zoolander, the world has been waiting.)

My prediction...The Prestige will be the movie of the year.

...wait...poo poo me...I forgot about Apocalypto & Flags of Our Fathers (which I'd wager will take the Callaghan #1 & #2 spot respectively when all is said and done)

I stand corrected, but it'll be waaaay up there in any case....most likely top three material.

I can't bloody wait for this one!

I'm pulling for the Fountain as my favorite movie this year or Flags of our Fathers.

Most enjoyable movie I'm thinking may be Southland Tales.

Fountain does look awesome... as does Flag of our Father's. They filmed that about a mile from my house too.

I was through the roof with excitement for The Fountain after first seeing the teaser some odd months ago...

but I must admit that this latest (longer) trailer has relieved me of some of my anticipation. In this case, I think the publicity department would benefit greatly with a "less-is-more-keep-em-guessing" campaign.

Don't get me wrong, it still looks great, but that teaser...Fughedaboutit!

Forget the teaser and the trailer.

This is what sold me:

It is about damn time thank you.

Funny story.

I met Aronofsky's dad. He was a patient of my mother ( a nurse) at NYU Rusk Hospital in Manhattan. This was when Pi was premiering at Sundance. And I had only just heard the name Aronofsky a few days before.

On second thought there's no humor in that story.

Ohh well.... deal with it.

My cousin had a class or two with him at NYU. Him and the guy who was in Pi. Sean something or other. Said he could tell by the way this guy talked about filmmaking that he was destined to hit it big.

I might have to watch Pi tonight. It's been way too long since I've seen it.

The Prestige looks sweet, Been a long time since a good magic movie has been made (Pen & Teller get killed). The Fountain is also a movie I am eagerly anticipating.

The Prestige was awesome, I just got back from seeing it (right after Flags of Our Fathers). This is my second favorite film this year. The acting, story, directing, editing, magic, are awesome. I'd really like to see Jackman get nominated for Best Actor, and Bale for Best Supporting Actor. The Prestige (the actual end of the film) was one killer ending. One of the best endings I've ever seen. Go out and see this flick, but I will say one thing, if you want to see The Illusionist as well, see Illusionist first, or you'll be sorely disappointed by it if you see it AFTER The Prestige.

Can't wait to see it... couldn't go tonight. We did organize a Premier for "The Illusionist" a couple months ago. Missed half the movie because my Magician friends couldn't stop arguing about technicalities.

The prestige imo was good but not amazingly great - its on my fav movies this year list, but not on my fav movies of all time list. Nonetheless i thoroughly enjoyed it, and the plot was great. My only caveat was that i felt the first half an hour was a tad slow, but hey i'm not complaining.

The Prestige is an amazingly well made film. I think it's main flaw (and this is purely from an audience enjoyment standpoint, not an artistic one) is that you're supposed to care primarily for one character, but when they pull several big switcheroos at the end, you're left not caring about anyone.
