The Perfect Set

Thanks, well I can order the red rock online and the FS-100. Thats not a big problem, just as long as I can find the rest of the stuff you see there. I'll go see Mike. Should I call first? Or just go? I am in the Dufferin and Eglinton West Area, pretty close to the place.

Hey H Shock,

Check out www.dvxbuddy.com I am making remote zoom and focus/iris controllers.

I also wanted to point out That I have software coming out soon for the Mac that you will want. It will allow you to Monitor your video without having to buy a fancy HD monitor. Basically you will use your Mac Laptop with firewire to focus and frame your shot and check exposure. Basically you could buy a Mac Book and my software for about half of what a dedicated HD monitor would cost you, and the Mac has its own battery.

One of the real nice things is that my software will flip the image so that you will see it properly, this is a problem if you use a m2.

If you have heard of dvrack, I am making a better version for the Mac ;')

Oh and I also Have an HVX and Steadicam flyer if you need them for your shoot, send me a private message and we can chat about your production. I have a Really good DP/lighting guy too.

good stuff, how long untill you're product is ready for buying? I don't have a MAC laptop, but they are real cheap in Canada. I could certain buy one, I need a good monitor. I'll PM you with more info in a little while. So i can explain to you better. Lighting guy is what I need, but my budget is already low, I am going to have to see how I can work this out.

Ok, I just read the Toronto Film office permit requirements to shoot a movie, on public streets, IE: Closing roads, closing city streets, changin signs ect. One HUGE problem is that in order to obtain this permit, the Insurance company needs to be covered at least one million dollars. Does anyone know ways around this? Or maybe a cheaper way to go? Is building a set on private Property my only way to shoot legally?

I am hoping to get the software out around the end of the month.

PM me about the movie, we can see what we can work out. My lighting guy is excellent and has feature work.

As far as the street shoot... depending on what you need to shoot, you would probly be able to get away without permits, unless you want to close a street. If you just set up a hvx on tripod and no lights, minimal crew no one should bother you. If they do, you appologize and tell them your a student film maker.

otherwise figure about $5k US for a 1 million insurance policy

Hey there, just wondering whats up with the release to you're software. thank.

We are getting very close now. I had my Friend Richard Brown Demo Beta 2 at the DVX boot camp in LA. Based on feed back, we are going to make a few changes. We have been adding in some nice GUI features in the mean time.

I am very happy with how it is shaping up and want to make sure we have a solid app before we release, I hope you can understand.

Thanks
Ben
