Probally doesn't matter at this time what he believes since this forum is dedicated to filmmaking and this thread for grabs and footage; discussing religious beliefs or baiting someone into a religious discussion is not gonna happen here.

So don't do it please.

Hey, I was just looking at his site and found it all very confusing and was curious to know where he is coming from and what the motivation is behind the project. I'm not looking for a debate.

Neither Am I.

It's been my experience to make somewhat pre-emptive announcements from time to time. Don't take it personal; just making some rounds.

Besides, John has 10000 posts he can do whatever he wants! heh

Looks interesting, I would love to see it. It seems to be directed towards 'fundamentalist christians' and I suppose I would be considered one, and I can see from the about page that it doesn't seen to take kindly to my kind. If you would like to Grover, I would love to talk to you(over email perhaps)..I don't enjoy being hated for my beliefs either, and I think everyone deserves their say in the matter.

(Sorry if I am disobeying the rules, feel free to delete this if you must)

Back to the topic at hand - Screen grabs - The stills look interesting, I would like to see some clips. The stills in the second row look the best (The purple background light) and the still of the TV footage. IMHO they make the other stills look bland in comparison.

in a hurry again!

in a hurry again!

Hey, sorry no response, been insanely busy/stressed out...

In fact, right now, I'm literally en route to Wash D.C., where I'm doing (what I hope will be) a kick-ass martial arts video at my old stomping grounds, LLoyd Irvin's MA (lloydirvin.com). I'm hesitantly doing it in 24p, though I'm thinking I should do 30p... Not so much for the fast ma action, but for fast/slow motion stuff...

Anyhoo, I'm hesitant to post any actual footage from POTC, since that sometimes can screw up with festivals and so on...

Besides, any clips I do post now will have to be 'ripped and re-rendered' from the DVD's I have laying around; my hard drives are out and waiting for data recovery. (got new drives for current projects)

POTC works essentially with "jump cut flash-backs/memories/insights," thus the differing look to some of the shots in terms of color, lighting, etc...

Check out the website for more detailed info...

Break between filming...

Anyhow, yes, not sure if I properly explained, but I was trying to get a more 'hyper-real' look and feel to the flashback/memory/altered-perception sequences, and the "child-brainwashing" (also referred to as the "sunday school ") scene (ie, purple filters & television shots) was one of those hyper-real sequences...

If I could do it over, I would've framed myself RIGHT in the couch, and Heather LEFT on the couch ("stageRight" and "stageLeft," ie, per the camera's POV), so it would've matched more with the Right/Left framing I was doing (under the captions of the pics...)

Of course, to do this, I would've had to have switched the lighting all around for us, and that would've been a pain...
