FEATURE: The Park - (comedy/mockumentary) - A Matt Sconce Film

Auditions went well today. We saw 108 people and ran auditions from 9am to 8pm between these auditions and some video auditions, I believe we have our cast. We cast one person on the spot because they were AMAZING. We are very excited! We will be making decisions and moving forward in the next two weeks.

I heard they're roasting weenies and marshmallows on sticks... : )

I heard it was HAGGIS! Oh, I'm there! Wait, I WILL be there...

We had a truly EPIC audition session. We have most of the roles fixed as to who will be in them now. We still need one massively handsome Scot for one of our 'free' climbers. Other than that, we are looking at trying to get some big name cameos who are friends for a few parts, then we will notify and lock the cast. It was a wonderful day.

This afternoon we will be heading up into the high Sierra to shoot B roll during a stormy afternoon. GH-2 and unbrellas are ready.

Thrilled to announce Stan Harrington has accepted the role of Frank Bird (One of the leads) in "The Park"! Stan is an amazing actor and filmmaker. Very exciting. More roles will be announced in the next 2 weeks. Stay tuned!

Here is the Logo for our Studio we will use at the start of The Park. No Sound yet.
Casting is going very well. Almost all done!

B-roll Footage and Test Footage From Aftershock Studios Feature Film "The Park". Shot on GH2 with 14-140 stock lens at 1920 by 1080 (24h setting) in Cinema Mode. No Color Correction, EX mode used in several of the scenes.

Here is the B-roll with some new shots added and the Saturation and Vibrance boosted a bit. The Park has amazing colors and now it shows more in the footage.

Hey Matt,

Looks like you guys are having fun.

Word of advice for Crowdfunding Web Campaigns: shorter = much.. much better.

You're RTing out at 8+ Minutes, unless you've got content and concepts to fill out that time, you risk losing the second wave of pledgers which are people who are not immediate friends and family. It takes over 1:30 to get to THE PARK itself. I'd get there a lot sooner and out.

Just offering some info from experience.

There are about three waves of pledgers:

1. Friends and Family

2. Friensd of Friends and Family

3. Last Minute Pledgers, random people that finally got wind.

Once you Friends and Family period's up you really have to start pushing like a maniac. Part of that push is having a very clear and succinct video to show.

I'd start it out with the footage montage to hook people, short explanation about the park right after a very VERY brief intro, then get to the footage you want to show.

Say thank you, then get out of the video.

Have you considered throwing stills on the indieGogo page of BTS from other shoots? If not, that's a good idea as well. Choose stills from projects that look the best, and the BTS stills should reflect work mostly, not too much play. Since you're trying to get people to trust you with their money and all.

Hope that helps.
