hahah, yeah ... Jarred's PM telling me how to pick up the HVX was entitled: "way to go jackass"
seems to be a common sentiment

Jack,

Have you entered your films into any other contests yet other than DVXusers?

EJ

No, and that does make me a jackass

I bought a book with a list of all of the festivals right after Hero fest and then got so busy with Horror fest .... yada yada yada ... I suck.

Have you found anything that just lists horror film fests?
the book Chris Gore's Ultimate Film Festival Survival Guide lists festivals by prestige, and then categories such as doc, short, student, digital, animation, international, underground,, sports, family, music, sci fi, fantasy, and more including horror.

he started filmthreat.com and I think some of that information is on there, but I haven't checked.

I obviously haven't battle tested this book, but it seems very good. I was however able to apply some of his festival survival tips even to Horror Fest and it made a huge difference in my experience even vs. Hero Fest.

Jack, Mark, Ted and everyone else with a finished project. In case you are not aware the most up to date, most legitimate festivals can be found on withoutabox.com. They update almost every day, and they do electronic submission for your paperwork and other materials. Plus you can filter down to find festivals that might fit your project.

I was just about to post the same thing. Definitely worth signing up at the "free" level just for the info.
