The Official NFL 09-10 Season

I'd say let's wait until the Broncos play a halfway decent team, mind you the Browns haven't scored one offensive touchdown since mid November last year...

Texans had their breakout game against the Titans - couldn't be happier about that.

And finally, WAY TO GO GIANTS! Losing their home opener at Jerry World is one big step closer to seeing Shanahan in a polo with a star on it.

Where...is...my...cyanide....?

Haha I know. It's just an ugly situation all around... I despise the Cowboys but I'd absolutely love to see what Shanahan could do with their talent. He has a better chance of ending up at Washington though, which I have nothing against.

Yeah, I've always liked the Skins. But The Cowboys were the first team I learned to hate. Takes me back to Super Bowl X.

I totally feel that. I go to school near Dallas and i cannot stand most of their fans.

It's really upsetting that my heart is not with the Bronc's anymore... I grew up with them and was a ball boy for camp and stuff. I'll always have a soft spot for em, but the fact that the leader has Belichick blood in him just makes me cringe.

10-6. I dropped quite a bit from the first week but at least I'm still up. Hated that Chicago beat the Steelers. Ugh.

Might as well keep putting my picks out there, front and center. My picks are in bold.

9-7 worse than last week...off to a bad start this year.

Sucked losing to the Jets this week, but their defence played great and made more play than we did when it counted. We really need to get out offense rolling....we need to start running the ball more....or I guess I should say be more successful at running the ball...Brady can't be throwing 40-50 times per game, need to run to setup the pass....Having Welker out too last week didn't help. I don't think our offense has been bad actually, I just don't think were captilizing on key plays...we'll march down the field 70 yards and then only end up getting a FG out of it....Hopefully playing the Falcons this week will help us get going......

Eh, I'd be a bit more concerned about playing the Falcons. With Matt Ryan playing as well as he is, Turner running the ball and Tony Gonzales playing like he has something to prove...they are already proving that last year might not have been a fluke.

I can't pick against New England. That's like betting they are going to lose two weeks in a row. No way. And, not when they are playing at home. Though, they haven't been playing poorly per say, they just don't have their usual rhythm. But, considering you have someone of Belichick and Tom Brady's caliber to get it all worked out, I figure they will eventually get back on track. In the meantime, they will have to settle for nail-biters; like I think this game against the Falcons will be...

How often do you get to hear:

"The Broncos Defense has kept them in the game"

I know. After 4 weeks, undefeated and its all because of our Defense? what!? I mean, only allowing 26 points in four games is jaw dropping. But, we definitely have our work cut out for us next week. Bill is going to try to teach his student a lesson that's for sure. Plus, I'd like to see Hillis get the ball more. Kyle can't play mistake free football every game. So, we need more big plays from our offense. We need to drive that score up so that when he does throw a pick or two we can overcome it.

But so far, so good.

They have the best stats for points against, by a long shot. That says something

One of the things I think they could have used more of yesterday was the running game. They really should have pounded it a bit more. Then again, they were hardly on the field for the first half.

I'm glad Marshall finally got some receptions. No doubt that he acted like a child in camp, but if you are going to keep the guy, then use him.

I like how Orton has changed the vibe of the team so far. We no longer have to hold out for the spectacular 60 yard pass to score. He manages the game well and doesn't turn the ball over. Although you are right thinking that won't last forever.

But if the D can keep creating turnovers and then we don't turn it over ourselves, I think we have a shot.

Although yesterday looked more like a Steelers-Bears game from back in the day then the Broncos and Cowboys.

Yeah, I'm definitely excited. And, you're totally right about needing to pound the ball more. I just don't understand why he doesn't give Hillis a fair shake? I know Hillis has made a couple of bad plays, fumbled one, dropped another but how long is he going to be in the dog house? I know he wants to give the rookie with the big fat contract every opportunity to succeed but I think Hillis just needs that one breakout game for McDaniels to see the guys incredible Mike Alstot-ish potential. I mean, why give the ball to Lamont Jordan on 4th and short? Hillis is a beast whose legs never stop moving. He would have bowled over that guy yesterday.

Yeah I know. Whatever McDaniels is doing is obviously working. I just worry about our lack of an explosive Offense. If we were consistently putting up 25-30 points a game with the way our Defense is playing...wow....

I actually don't think the Chargers will miss a beat without L.T. Not to take anything away from him. I just think that Sproles is good and having 1 talented back is enough. Having said that, I picked Baltimore.

I think LT is at the end of his career. I also think that the Chargers are not going to the Super Bowl. SD's defense is awful. Merriman? Where did you go? Oh right your beating up your Girl Friend. Sigh. Super Bowl Prediction: Steelers.

I agree with that. Except for the Super Bowl prediction. In fact, its way too early to make one, imo. But I'll talk playoffs. Actually, I think we'll see the usual suspects with a few surprises thrown in there. Indy and the Pats. The Bengals are looking primed for a run. And, then of course you know I am going to say Denver. I have to.

NFC...if Brett Favre can keep this up...his arm looked incredible last night, they'll be in the playoffs at least. Chicago and Cutler of course. And the Saints are flat out SCARY.

But, my predictions certainly aren't edgy. I'm just going with whose hot right now.

Big game coming up this week. Pats Vs Broncos -

Got an idea, Rick and Jim, you guys want to put some cash up on the game with all proceeds going to Isara? Lets say something like, if the Pats win you guys donate to Isara and vice versa for me if the Broncos win?

We played pretty good this week against the Ravens, we did enough to hang on get the win. More importantly we finally started capitalizing in the Red Zone and instead of settling for FG's we punched it in a few times. Brady and Moss finally hooked up.

Man, you pose a great semi-win/win proposal for this weeks game. But, I'm gonna have to stew on it a bit. I usually don't like to ever bet on the Broncos. I feel like it whammy's them.

I'm surprised a mod hasn't closed the thread for on-line wagering

How about we make it bigger. Not a bet, but a promise. If the Donkeys go 11-5 (or better) Rick and I will donate to Isara. If the Pats go 11-5 (or better) you can write them a check.

I think that's a tipping point record for both of them, based on ow they have been playing and their upcoming schedule. And this way, there's a good chance we will all be donating to Isara.

I'm open to changing those records a bit, but I think that 11-5 is a good balance between a gimmee and a "no effing way" for both teams. Of course, I never would have said that about the Broncos in pre-season.
