He didn't buy it from B&H, he bought it from the source I referred him to, a small company in comparison to BH and they only received a few. It's where I got mine from (in transit) when Pana Canada flopped on it's all it's customers.
 
I ordered my camera Dec. 30, 2010 from B&H still waiting.
I wonder when other people that are still waiting ordered cameras?
This may give us all an idea how long the wait will be.

Abel, Nov. 2nd.

there are a few lucky ones who ordered with B&H around Dec. 15th and got it the first week of Jan.
 
My dealer in the UK was originally expecting them on the 18th, but is now telling me that it could be any day now. They are waiting on Panasonic.
 
I know they started to ship last night, but that was not my entire order, so the production pod is up outputting cameras! Yay! Now I only see the ones coming here, but take as a good sign world-wide.

How we wish Panasonic Canada could have someone like you! Here's to keeping our fingers crossed we get a camera next week!
 
yeah thats what i am thinking and hoping. this, end of the month, better not come and go. they have put off canada long enough. though, basically what jan is saying is that the us cameras have shipped out, but could mean international as well. thanks for the update jan, really hoping some cameras come next.

Inter-Cité Video for the camera as it was listed on the website for authorized dealers. Pre-ordered October 14th. I even called Panasonic Canada and they wouldn't tell me anything except they had no cameras to ship (but to their credit they were extremely polite about it!).

As for shooting ... sure, we have lots of little productions lined up. My DP has suggested we do a shoot as an AF100 test with some elderly Parkinsons patients who are taking dance classes from his wife. For us that would be a great field-test because it's often the type of work we do.

It's nice to see you're enjoying your camera though!

Between getting it earlier and Barry's book, I wish I had ordered from a US dealer - though to be fair, it's clear there are other US pre-orderers feeling the same pains as Canadians. The demand has vastly outstripped the initial supply which is a good sign that it's exactly the type of tool this market segment (price-range/productions) needed.

There I go preaching to the choir again...
 
We talked to Panasonic Canada yesterday. The rep said he was getting cameras in within the week and would be shipping out soon after. He said he was likely getting a limited number, so we're not sure we'll actually get it in this round. Very nice rep!

I heard the same thing last week from my dealer.
 
Abel Cinetech waiting list NYC

Added to waiting list early October 2010.
Left $500 deposit on 11/4/10.
Paid in full for camera on 12/29/10

Still waiting. Local Abel Cine customer since 1992. Love the staff & service there.
I absolutely know you're doing the best anyone could possibly do in a bad situation. Please forgive my impatience.

I think customs is playing with my camera. It seems to have been delayed for a day and a half while they "clear" it. I think someone at the customs office like cameras and is shooting some b-roll of boxes right now :(

Actually what I said was I only saw what was being shipped here and all of my cameras are not in that shipment. There may be others routed elsewhere. Altogether possible, take it as a good sign. ;-) And the cameras go through customs before they leave Japan.
